Engraved upon my palms and more Lent/Easter material

Hi Folks,

For now the winter is past,
the rain is over and gone.
The flowers appear on the earth;
the time of singing has come … Song of Songs 2:11-12

It really is a joy to feel the sun warm on our faces, and to see signs of life and hope springing up everywhere. Here at CMM we are excited at the prospect of finally getting out on the road again and seeing some of you face to face. See further down this mailing for more information about our music weeks which seem might well be able to go ahead this year.

For the time being, however, we wait. And we are conscious that it is very likely we will still be worshipping from our homes for the duration of Lent and into Easter here in the UK. So in response, we are working on a few video projects that we hope you will be able to share with your pastors and worship leaders, and with your families and friends.

The first of these is a simple lyric video to the song ‘Engraved upon my Palms’ put together by Annie. We have two options for you to share and enjoy – the lyric video on its own, or one accompanied by some teaching from Roger. It is perfect material for Mothering Sunday.

Looking further into Lent, Helen is currently working on a video of the anthem version of our song ‘See how he dies on a cross’. For those of you who follow a liturgical calendar, this will be perfect for Passion Sunday (21st March) or Good Friday (2nd March). We plan to release this on our YouTube channel in the week beginning 8th March.

Then there is still time to take part in our Easter ‘Jesus Lives!’ project – the deadline for video submissions for this is Friday 5th March. This is a lively new tune to the old hymn by Christian F Gellert and will be perfect for Easter Sunday services and beyond into the Easter season. If you would like to get involved, send an email to annieroutley@btinternet.com and she will send you the information for participants.

There are a few more potential projects and ideas coming along, so watch this space!

We also have a date for your diary – Thursday 20th May. This will be our annual Supporters’ Evening. In the past this has been quite a small event, but now with the wonders of Zoom and YouTube etc, we hope to have an evening far more can attend. So do keep your eyes on our mailings and we will let you know in good time how to take part.
