30 November 2013 Advent evening, St John's House

The Community of St John the Divine are based in the Ward End area of Birmingham, and within the parish of Christ Church, Burney Lane - Roger and Mary's former church.  This community of sisters has long been connected with CMM: Ivy sings in the CMM choir, they looked after some of our excess stock for a while, and Helen lived there for three years while first working in the office.  It is therefore wonderful each year to visit the sisters and hold a special Advent evening for them and for their associates.

Roger, Mary and Helen took with them Amy (sadly Jassica couldn't make it), and Roger led an evening including some traditional carols and some more modern music.  It was great to include a couple of songs from Seasons and Reasons - 'How silent waits the listening earth' and 'Within a crib'.

The sisters always look after us amazingly well - the mince pies afterwards are a real treat, especially the ones with the Viennese topping :-)
