A weekend in Keighley

On Friday, Roger travelled to Keighley (near Bradford) to lead a taster for Rock there. Keighley is a new venue for us, so there is much excitement about the forthcoming performance in November. Amy, a lay worker in the Methodist Circuit there is a long-standing associate of CMM, often singing on albums in the backing vocal group, and coming on team for a huge variety of events.

On Saturday, Roger was joined by Annie, Martin, Helen, Carole and Barrie, and with Amy, we led a Ways to Praise day. In the morning Roger spoke about being a worshipper, and then we divided into different groups for workshops such as creative worship, planning and leading praise, sing a new song, and open to God. At the end of the day we had the final session - Ways to Praise, in which Psalms, Hymns and Songs are looked at in detail - the importance of a good balance in worship.

The day seemed to be thoroughly enjoyed by all, and in the evening the team and their hosts all met together for a lovely buffet and fellowship time.

Yesterday morning we led the church anniversary at Cullingworth, after which most of the team went home. Roger stayed behind and led the evening service at Keighley Shared Church with their 'Big Sing' music group. Today Roger is travelling from Keighley to Hull for yet another Rock taster. Eventually we will see him in the office again!
